Every great story has a beginning, and mine starts with a kind-hearted neighbor named Papa Joe. As a child, I would visit his house, spending time with his beloved dog. One day, he made a simple yet life-changing offer: if he supplied the ingredients, would I bake him peanut butter cookies, his favorite? Of course, I said yes, and that moment sparked a lifelong love for baking that would take thirty years to truly come to fruition. The name "Baking for Heaven" holds deep meaning for me. Papa Joe had a signature farewell, without fail, he'd say, "Shannon, it's been a slice of Heaven seeing you today." His words have echoed with me to this day, shaping not only my business but my passion for bringing joy through baked goods. And now he enjoys his whole slice of Heaven.
Another guiding light in my journey has been my father, who now resides in Heaven. Each year, I would bake him German chocolate cake on his birthday, knowing how much he loved it. His appreciation and enthusiasm reinforced my belief that baking is more than just mixing ingredients, it's about love, comfort, and cherished memories. For me, baking is more than a business; it’s therapy, creativity, and an obsession with making sweets that aren’t just good but unforgettable. I strive to create treats that offer the best bite you’ve ever tasted—flawless in both flavor and texture. Most importantly, everything I do, I do for the Lord. My hope is that every bite brings happiness, warmth, and a little slice of Heaven.
